Saw that yesterday. Rare bit of sportsmanship in this age.

    Yup, almost shared that yesterday.
    That's good sportsmanship.

Striking out your bud, for the last out in such a high stakes game, has got to come with a sting.

Yup, but there's nothing better than beating your buddy either!

I saw it and was very impressed. I also do some kid posted that his buddy hit a dinger off him one time and flipped him the bird rounding third and renamed himself on fortnite to commemorate the event hahaha. Both probably have their place hahahaha

If my close friend struck me out, I'd start dating his sister....:dv

Kind of along the same lines, I remember when my best friend, who was a year behind me in high school, passed me on the depth chart in football and earned the starting job. He was bigger and stronger than me. We had colored practice jerseys for scrimmages and I had to swap with him. I still remember that day. It was poignant, but we remained best friends thereafter.

These days, a lot of these kids who play against each other during the high school season are teammates the rest of the year when playing on travel teams and clubs. It was like that for me with high school water polo. There was only one club team in my area, and all the better players from the 4 or 5 best high school teams in my area played on it. We were rivals for a couple months out of the year and teammates for the rest of the year.
