    Nice pictures. Will be up there first week of Nov. and can't wait. Do you think the Ptarmigan will still have brown in there feathers first week of Nov??

    I would think some of the ptarmies would still have some brown. You will probably see some variation in the amount of brown/white feathers. Where are you going in AK?

    Ended up being a fifty+ bird day after adding some ptarmies on the hike out. Great mixed bag hunt

    Another great mixed bag hunt that included 3 banded brant

    We reported the bands online but haven't got the cert. info yet. The basic info provided had one brant banded in 1990 and another one in 1994. Not knowing if these birds were banded as juvies or adults puts these at 19+ and 15+ years old. The third Brant was a juvie that came in with the 19+ and were both banded in AK. The 15+ was banded in the Northwest territories and came in as a single.
