Opening day (Sept 1st) my first duck hunt in Alaska!!
Limited out on my eight ducks in 10 shells. I hunted a small pond off the side of the road and set up not more than 100 yards from my truck. I was done in 30 minutes!!
Alright, so I was bored at work here today and went a little overboard with the pics. I think you get the point though. There's no place like Alaska and no matter where you end up going you'll have all the photo ops you could ever dream of. The fishing is outstanding all over the state and the duck hunting is better up there on the worst days than most places in the lower 48 are on thier best days. I don't think you can go wrong with taking a trip to Alaska. The only downfall is that at some point or another your trip will end and you'll have to go home. Then you'll be like me and fall asleep each night dreaming of your next visit to the greatest outdoors destination on earth!! I'm just lucky enough to have married an Alaskan girl when I lived up there and now visiting the inlaws isn't anywhere near the nightmare it can be for a lot of people!!
Yup, Cordova is one seriously ugly place. No wonder nobody talks about it much.
That must of been horrible to live there Wonder if they need any transplant school teachers up there lol
Definitely one of Alaska's best kept secrets!!
Thanks for all the pics. Was at St Paul this past year and had plannad on being in Anchorage 2 days early. Then Pen Air changed there flights, so we ended up on the island 2 days early. Ever time i hit Anchorage, it was dark. So i have to go back, just to see the place in the day time. This time the wife wants to go also, so its all a matter of how much i can spend
I think Ring King is home sick!
