I want to buy some boots for late season stand hunting and second season waterfowl. I live just outside Buffalo, NY and it gets cold. Looking to spend around 150 if possible. Thanks

Years of running sled dogs in some really cold temps I found the Steger MukLuks to be the best for me.

For sitting in a stand, I like the neoprene boots, like Bogs or Mucks.

An important point is to make sure they are not too tight as any boot that cuts off circulation will not work well. I always carry some footwarmers - nothing better for keeping warm. I even stick them to my chest inside one of my layers. They work wonders when you are trying to stay still.

Muck boots are good for me as long as stay active. The minute I set still my feet get cold in them. I think because they trap the moisture.

I've known several people that have these and swear by them...and for that matter all their gear.

Buddy swears by the zip over boot blankets or covers you can buy. I got a pair this year but 10 minutes after putting them on I was off the stand gutting a deer so I have no idea if they work.
