I've done that when I was doing harlequin decoys. I always worry about getting some anti hunter behind the counter so I really don't want to do that again. :l

Burgandy needs to be mixed with an equal part of Yellow Oxide; then touches of black & white added 'til you get what you want. You'll see lots of variations in color, so I wouldn't sweat it if there is a bit of variation. IMGP8521 (993 x 660).jpg

Widgeon are tough birds for me, right ahead of Gadwall.

Not sure if these are your style, but I painted them for a guy a few years back. Here's some of the mixes I used, but I'm sure I experimented with a thing or two. I used Ronan Superfine Japan Colors.

    Wigeon Gray
    1 white
    1 van dyke brown

    Drake Wigeon Sides/Back
    1 burnt sienna
    ¾ white

    Dark Tan
    3 white
    1 raw umber

    Light Tan
    6 white
    1 small raw umber

Those hens are spot on. Best I have seen. Thank you

I think I may try mixing some of the colors posted and pic the best and then have them color matched in quart (if possible) and gallon sizes. 350 full repaints and touch ups are going to use a ton of paint and it may get kind of expensive.

What brand of decoy are those, Gene? Your paint jobs look great.

Thanks. Like Billy Bob said, GHG. I like their decoys once they're repainted. :tu:tu
