For most of us hunting ducks here in New England, black/mallard crosses isn't all that uncommon but killed this one today- think it's pretty cool

I shot one, I was seeing it with some regular mallards for a month, then I jumped a group off the rr tracks one day and the white one was in there.....it was a drake as well....id imagine they don't live long as they stand out like crazy!

Missed one of those white ones once when we hunted in Boston Harbor. Later when we stopped for lunch at the "Clam Shack" there it was eating popcorn with a bunch of mallards.

As Bones said we shoot some of these once in a while.

This kind is more rare, but when I showed it to the Mass. Waterfowl Biologist he said it could be a second generation mallard X black X something ?
