Not sure of the view from the "Bottom of the Slough", but overall some issues in Albuquerque doesn't seem to be the basis for a conclusion that identifies "the biggest problem we have".

It's probably the biggest problem they have with the general public being skeptical of them.

In this neck of the woods, the only folks skeptical of cops are those with issues. The general public thinks cops are okay and appreciate what they do. :tu

I both agree and disagree; there's a difference in being paranoid about cops and just being a little skeptical. While I fully understand that just like everything else the media pushes/reports on the bad stuff and we don't hear nearly enough about the good, the fact remains that they sure seem to have a lot to report on.

I believe one can appreciate the job they do while still being a little skeptical about just blindly giving them the utmost trust and respect. Personally I attempt to show everyone respect as long as it's returned. Just some of the respsonses on this board has shown that even many of them have a bit of an "us vs them" attitude. Kinda makes it hard to show respect when it's not shown in return.

Do not disagree. Do have some thoughts to share later. I'm heading out now to go fish the incoming tide.

Wouldn't it be nice if cops and dirt bags would feel empathy one for another. Do ya see that sort of reciprocation ever happening?
