    Are they in season now? Seems like easy pickin's...

    I assumed you were shooting the grasslands, and I have not seen too many corn-fed birds in the grasslands... Although I know of a few guys that have been pinched for it in the past....

    I shot a Hen Malard that had swallowed a whole acorn. I would say she sure could swallow.

    JUST ABOUT THE MIDDLE OF CALIF.
    Frogs ?? There is no season or limits... its wide open in this 30 to 40 degree weather...:rolleyes: and you can just pick em up, don't need no stinking gig.. ;)

    Corn fed birds come from corn areas, just like rice fed birds come from the rice areas, acorn fed birds come from rivers and bottoms.... and no surprise that grassland fed birds come from snail areas !

    And if you hunt the foothills areas you can always get the combo feeders..
