Dead mounts

    Have a question, are dead mounts fixed in place or free swinging? I have some grouse I want done up.

    Mine I can take off the wall at any time and re arrange..... see the thread below this "Snow Storm" I have 4 dead mounted geese in one display and plan on adding one more, a canada... Can't wait to hear how others have theirs mounted. Jim in Texas

    They can actually be mounted either way. I prefer to secure them to the backboard, base, etc...especially on multiple mounts to keep them like they're supposed to be, ie not moving around and getting out of place. Once the mounts dry "nestled" together, they are formed to fit in that arrangement and really should stay that way. Some cases where the client wants them displayed directly on their wall at home, then they can be temporarily attached to a piece of plywood for example for transport and then transferred to the wall. Single mounts not so much a problem in that area.
