If you had limited time to hunt in which order of priorities would these be.
Depends on the quality of hunting available to me, but given similar quality I'd go duck, pheasant, deer
You realize this is a duck hunting forum, right?
Waterfowl, pheasant. Shoot all the damn deer you want. Kill them all!
Why choose. Hevishot dead coyote will take care of them all.
I’ve carried a rifle to the duck blind before, depending on where I’m hunting. One morning as I was walking out from duck hunting about 11am, I walked up on a nice 8 pt buck coming swimming across a wide canal- I had just enough time to find and shuck a 00 buckshot in the scattergun before he got to the other side. He got up out of the water, and stood broadside to me as he looked at me aiming my shotgun at him. Bad mistake on his part. I’ve shot many hogs out the duck blind. #2 steel will kill a doe or medium-ish hog deader than hell if it is close enough. If the duck hunting is slow, I will get out of the blind and go shoot squirrels- again depending on location. Long story short, when I go hunting, I go to kill. I am an opportunistic game collector and I’ll take whatever I can. There are no pheasants where I hunt and I couldn’t care less about hunting them.
Same here. Never hunted deer, but I’ve hunted ducks and pheasants. I enjoyed pheasant hunting immensely, but I’m all in on duck hunting.
A pheasant drive can be fun! Flat out fun. Worth at least one try.
Turkey (always will be turkey), duck (I’m equally as obsessed), pheasant, deer.
Deer is boring. At least when it’s slow duck hunting, you can BS. Or shoot a skirrel out of a tree.
