It was a tradition when I was a kid at Christmas. Lutefisk. For those that don't know it is a traditional Norwegian dish of fish.

    2Co 2:15 — 2Co 2:17
For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things? For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God's word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.

Lutefisk was one of those things you either ate it or wanted to thow up when you smelled the house it was being served in.
The Gospel is much the same. For some it brings death others life. It's about desire. God places that desire. You love God because he loved you first. That desire came from him. 1John 4.
Thanks be to God that he has given himself so we may be in His love. Come soon Lord.
