IMG_0194.PNG Ive got a field that has a big pond in it that isn't desirable for ducks or geese but about 20 yards away is a swail that juts into the middle of my field. I am bulldozing the swail so I am able to flood it, the swail is approximately a 1/2 acre in size and is surrounded by standing corn. I have been reading up and want to plant jap Millet in this spot next year but was told by one of my hunting buddies to plant corn. Last question is if this spot would be good this year being basically a flooded corn field, in a mile in a half away from the roost, will this spot be good?

Looks like it is there to begin with because it stays to wet to consistently farm so planting to corn is probably doomed to failure.

Yeah, bulldozed it yesterday and are pumping water into right now, we left a few areas of brush there for cover for the ducks, it is looking good as of now

I probably would've checked with the local NRCS office for a wetland determination before putting a dozer in it.

^^^ That would have been a very good idea. Hope it's a mute point.
