Finally seeing ducks in my area after wasting 45 days of season with little to no ducks what so ever. Sure wish season opened earlier so i would not have to hunt anymore this year. Never said a duck hunter before. Only from our fair weather hunters will you ever hear that remark

Ed... The reason you did not see any ducks would be the Southeast zone was once again closed for the two best migrations of the year! The last week of October was fantastic with birds everywhere and the 6,7 and 8th of November was one of the best Mallard migrations in the last couple of years.

So do you want to push the season back another month and shoot them when they are sitting on nests....

Not even a option but the late season is best for The real SE KANSAS unit not the eastern kansas unit. When the giant goose project started here in the late 80's the se unit was half of crawford county south half, all cherokee, part of labette and part of neosho counties. The weather difference between pittsburg and burlington is tremendous most of the time. Missouri has a central unit there south unit does not go 150 miles north of state line i think this is stupid as far as a earlier season if i wanted to donate blood to the mosquitos i would go to the red cross where you are it might work but here it is a joke and a stupid f____ idea i have been hunting 44 yrs and maybe 3-4 time early season might have helped the other 40 season was over before it got good here. Thanks to Mr Budd this finally got changed. I for one am happy for a late season
