    So what did you do there Mack? Remove some dirt and make it deeper? Looks great but not sure exactly what I'm seeing.

    This was an old cutoff slough (Grand River) that had been silted in and willow trees were out of control. We were able to reestablish the old bank and remove a lot of silt in doing so. When complete, we will be able to control the water level in this pool and the slough that connects it to Billy Lake (a larger oxbow slough). The flooding in the early 90's really played hell on the Grand River basin, dumping a lot of silt. Our two big oxbow sloughs picked up 3-4' of silt and in a super dry year without flooding, we often times don't have water to hunt.
