I quite often see were people are asking for prayer on the main forum. My question is does God hear and answer prayers of those who are not his children.

    Yes and no
Depends on the person who is doing the praying.

I have seen God move in peoples needs that didn't go to church.

What do you mean, yes and no. What determines whether it is yes or no???

Did God move because of the unsaved prayers or because of mercy, or prayers of believers on their behalf?

Skie what does the Bible say?

    Exactly right...

The Bible has much to say about various types of people and prayer. Even the Saved born again Christian can have prayer hindrances....

Complete lack of study of the word of God. Opinions are worthless....

    ...carry on.

Does God hear prayer? Well, I?d have to ask myself why I thought that God doesn?t hear everything? If I conclude that He hears everything, then He hears our prayers.
Jesus taught us to pray over in Matt 6:10 ?thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven?. Visualize heaven ? God?s will is always done in heaven. Look at the ministry of Jesus here on earth?..everywhere he went he was giving life?..meeting the physical needs of those He came in contact with daily.
So in John 10:10 I read ?The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.? Since Jesus came to give us life to the full, and the thief (Satan) steals, kills and destroys. I?d have to ask myself why aren?t Christians (me included) allowing the power of God to flow out and touch those around us, demonstrating that God does hear our prayers? That?s just my simple take on your question of ?does God hear prayer?.

most certainly from believers on their behalf. And some have come to God by what he has done for them.

Not his children? I didn't get that memo. I have always been taught that we are all Gods children, even if we are not believers? If you had a child that strayed from the faith you believe in, is that person no longer your child? I know that God hears all prayers. He may not answer it the way you want it answered, but he hears it.
