It has been a few years since I built my last one. I am going to add another caller to our spread. I am just wondering what you guys are using for amps and speakers. I used a amp like this one and horn speakers for my last one. I would like to get something that is wireless to run the amp. Also is everyone still running horn speakers, or is their better options out now?

Horn speakers are more efficient and require less power to drive without distortion. I posted the physics on what the wattage means and how to determine how much power you need on another thread.

I used a pair of those last year. They didn't sound good on my amp or my buddies amp. Maybe feed back or something. Might have been the snowgoose sound file we were using too, but the horn speakers sounded better.

Yeah when I'm running these I dont crank the volume on them as then they distort, even horn's do that too. Last few years I'm running my e-caller quieter anyways too.

I also adjusted my equalizer on my amp to help with the quality of the sound.

The regular cone speakers are really inefficient compared to the horns, and require a lot more power to drive them to the same sound levels without distortion. If you are using the cheaper amps, use horns for volume.

Be advised, you are going to get 5-10 watts per channel RMS out of those little amps, not 50-100 watts like advertised.
