Eating Coot

    Everybody says coot is bad to eat,but we just tried some and it isn't that bad or at least the ones we killed aren't that bad. So does any one else eat them or tried them.

    I've eaten them and fed them to others that ate them with no complaints.

    I heard the way you eat coot is cut it open and put a brick inside it grill it then eat the brick.

    :l I've tricked someone into trying it, he said it tastes like sh^t.:D

    I've never been hungry enough to try them....or waste the shot on too many of them....HOWEVER, since they dine on the exact same thing as Gadwall and the other ducks hanging around Gunnersville (i.e., Milfoil) I would imagine they'd taste at least as good as the others. The last few Gads I've cleaned were stuffed full of the Milfoil and they were delicious.
