I am beginning to do some research on a trip to Colorado for Elk for myself and my son. We would be looking for archery opportunities (does that exist anywhere other than TV)?

A youth non-resident elk tag is a deal. I don't really want to pay a guide I would much rather hook up with someone who can show us the ropes. I know we have no experience with Elk so this could be a fools errand please let me know if I am insane to even consider this.

I would be more than happy to swap out a North Carolina sea duck and potentially tundra swan hunt. While I would also like to give this a go, it is much more about the opportunity for my son.

Suggestions? Anyone willing to help out?

Sorry in advance if I am suggesting something that is frowned upon in Colorado.

Hooking up with someone for an elk hunt here will be difficult, unless you go the guide route. I would suggest searching for someone in your state who has experience or wants to archery elk hunt, and offer to split the cost of travel.
