A few years back we had a dry summer and when the trees started stressing (and the leaves starting to change colors early) in late summer, my mom told me the old timers called it "False Fall."

It has been interesting to see this happen again this year with our drought conditions being pretty extreme in North Central Missouri. Tim Reger (Sgt. Duck) and I have had many conversations about what fall might bring in regards to continued drought or a wet and wild fall.
