I'm thinking of taking the family:12/15/18 all girls with the wife to a different spot than the beach. We've done that already this summer.

    Any suggestions?

Nice cabin, boat rental and somewhere where the boat cops won't skin me if I happen to have a beer or 2 while boating.

    Thx

Smith Lake hour north of B'ham. No Sand bars, but beautiful place with lots of room. I think you may can rent a boat somewhere. Cops are there, and its just about all dry counties, but I've been part of many a sheetshow on that lake with no issues.

I grew up around lake Martin. Good place with beautiful water. It's getting somewhat crowded on the south and east ends. I'd recommend the north or west sides. Don't know about boat rentals but it's big enough i'm sure one could be had at one of the marinas.
