Federal Bill Will Block Idaho Salmon and Steelhead Recovery

    "Considering Idaho anglers, guides, and outfitters just had a forced steelhead harvest closure due to critically low fish returns, Representative Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) couldn’t pick a worse time to introduce her bill."

    But yet they still allow Gill netting on the Columbia. Sport fisherman are species selective, the nets are not.

    Very, very discouraging. And the last thing our anadromous fish need at this particular low point in their history.

    Whose the money behind it? I can tell you that at least in CA, the money almost always wins unless there is a groundswell of sportsmen and environmental groups to oppose it (and it still usually ends up in court). Strange that a bill could overturn a court order, but I took civic a long time ago.
