I have lots of friends in Canada. I am sure they are more concerned about the 2,400 homes and businesses that have been lost to fire so far. To those that lost everything, you have my sincere prayers.

We are located 860 km SE of Fort McMurray, and we are covered in heavy smoke from the fires. Snow geese are migrating north right now, and a lot of flocks are veering North East, possibly to avoid the smoke. I found that quite interesting. If the visibility decreases any more, they may have problems with flights in and out of our community. Smoke and fires are nothing we haven't seen before, but it certainly is a concern, with a lot of my asthma and COPD patients having acute exacerbations in the last couple of days. We are as dry as a popcorn fart up here and any fires will be serious.

Couple big fires in Manitoba as well, all in areas with lots of cabins and cottages. It's super scary, dry, dry, dry, dry here! We need rain!

I feel and pray for those affected by these fires. It sure does create some beautiful sunsets for others.

Glad to hear a drastic change has happened since my last post, from dry fires to rain soaked fields! Mother Nature sure has a Wicked curve!
