    From a Salt Lake newspaper:
Fry sauce is just always something we've had. Even McDonalds used to carry it. I can remember the first time I went to Las Vegas and we stopped at a McDonalds and when I asked for fry sauce the employees were dumbfounded - they'd never heard of it.

McDonalds stopped carrying it, even in our area, about 10 years ago, but it is prevalent in almost every other restaurant in our area. Yes, I realize you can make your own, but mixing ketchup and mayo together isn't always what it's made of.

Does your part of the country have fry sauce?

I thought fry sauce was when you drop a hit of window pane into a bottle of Jack Daniels?

Sporadic availability here, none at chain drive thru's that I know of. First place I'd seen it was a local drive thru burger joint in Tacoma 25 years ago. It was one of those regional places that would attract long lines of cars. Still the best fry sauce I've had. Needs a little relish to be great.

Dan that was Fry Sauce light.
The real Fry Sauce was dropping a double barrel, Orange Sunshine into a bottle of Tequila.

Crazy the stuff that was dropped into various bottles passed around at outdoor music events back in the day.

Prior to moving to the Pacific Northwest in the late 90s I lived in the Midwest, the South, and California. Never heard of fry sauce. Now, up in the Spokane WA area, every regional burger joint (chain or single location) has fry sauce. A good fry sauce is definitely a solid condiment!
