Gadwall call

    Don't know if it's the best but, I use a Haydel on them gray's.

    Of the two gadwall calls I have, one is a Haydel's and the other one is not.

    I think the long, ugly Duck Commander gadwall call is the best sounding one. My .02. :tu

    I'm with Fouwlballer, except I'm not so sure that it's the old mallard hens and not the young ones that sound coarse and broken like hen gadwall, but if you have a mallard call that will do that, you can little doubt do a slick drake gadwall beep on it, too. That, and they'll generally toll to hen mallard type calling. No need to carry a special "gadwall call" - unless you just want to.

    I have a metal reed Welborn style call that can attrack gray ducks like no other call I own...Cecil would be horrified...

    Find it hard to get Gaddies to respond to anything. Most of the ones I kill come in with Mallards.
