I may have posted this before so I apologize ahead of time. I'm getting ready (in the near future) to send my Gadwall off to be mounted so I need some ideas. We kill HUNDREDS of these guys every year but this one stood out because of the ring on his neck and his purplish head so I decided mount him up.

Could you guys post some ideas that would accentuate the neck and head on my bird? I'm not set on a flying or standing mount so it doesn't make a big difference to me.

Anyway, thanks for your contributions guys.

Here's a flyer that pretty much puts the head and neck front and center...

If that bird has a big, full head on him, make sure that your taxidermist blows that baby up so that you can see it. Like this...

This mount really does a cool job of showing off that big head...

This isn't a mount, but I'll bet Todd could turn it into one...

Do yourself a favor and use a LIVE reference photo rather than a mount.
Also the odds of a bird having his head puffed up while flying are pretty low, so if you want to puff him up I would go with a standing mount
