Gadwall Mounts?

    Is that last bird a really old hen that has started taking on the characteristics of a drake. I notice the orange bill that would be indicative of a hen, but it looks like it is taking on some of the characteristics of a drake as well.

    I don't think it's an old hen. I think it's drake missing most of its black pigment.

    Tell me those are not your pretty blue bows on your sandles... Great bird. I love dead mounts and carvers mounts. Hard to screw up and shows off the birds amazingly. But I like traditional mounts more so than anything.

    Just my take.

    That's a nice looking bird. I love those birds with 2 tone heads on them.
