We continue to do very well. This has been one of the strangest Januarys I've seen. I took a buddy to one of two open water holes I've keep open during freeze up.

I agree with you with it being a strange January . Yesterday there was a ton of geese trying to migrate back north . They definitely weren't geese from around here . ( New Lenox )

today it was specks and snows where'er you goes; didn't hurt them too bad ... big bunches hard to work without big decoy set-up. Fun though

As many as we saw between Emiquon and Rice yesterday, it's hard to fathom how there could be any left south of us.

I'm in aurora ( n. Il). Saw multiple groups of specks fly right over my house yesterday. We don't see many of those in this part of il.

Saturday morning I saw lots of geese up here near Lake Michigan, went out fishing and saw snow geese (40 to 50) flying off the lake, not sure if they are locals because its the Gary Indiana area and they are taking their lives in their own wings just hanging out around there.

The fishing was slow with boating five small coho with four being undersized, all are still swimming, the ride to the spot was great with fog and some ice chunks in the water along with Canada's being kicked up while resting on the calm lake (Deceiver this lake can be, no john boats, 14 miles round trip), see sample sized minnows or coho's.
