What year? I leased a 2012 and that was the case especially with the heater air conditioner. But that was the first generation. They fixed it quite nicely with the second generation.

I own a 2014. Most of my trips are 40 - 60 miles round trip. My typical day is take my wife to work (don't have to but choose to since it doesn't cost anything) 20miles round trip. Plug in the car, do some morning work on the computer. Trip into to Gig Harbor or Tacoma, 30 - 40 miles round trip, charge at home, Pick up the wife after school (she is a teacher) 20 miles round trip, charge, and have plenty for an evening out if we want. 100+ mile days are routine as long as the trip spacing works. There are multiple Fast chargers (440vDC) located at malls etc. so if I have a longer trip like to the airport or something I can charge there or on my way back. It does take longer, but that is ok with me.

The Leaf doesn't work for everyone, but the 200 mile/charge car will be a game changer.

I agree with the self driving cars, but I see so many of those folks on the road, it will be a welcome change. No drunk/stoned drivers would make it worth it in my book.

I don't remember the year, but it was an early model. I agree a 200-mile range would be nice.

When the cars are self charging while you drive, I MIGHT consider one for my wife.
Until then we will keep her car which gets 28 mpg and has had very few mechanical problems in the ten years we have owned it.

I want one of those perpetual motion machines too! Wish my Suburban would fuel itself up while I drove.:dv

Hell yea. I'd love to be able to pull 2 boats to Louisiana at the same time. Stupid Alabama trailer laws.
