I'd like to see the Grand Canyon, not all of it, just some of the highlights. How much time do I need and where should I stay and do I fly into Las Vegas and rent a car or is there somewhere else?

Thanks for any comments or suggestions.

I'd stay in Flagstaff, Az and rent a car to go to the canyon. Vegas is a long way from the good parts of the grand canyon.
What time of year are you heading

Maybe early July. When is the best time to go? I'm thinking maybe July might be too hot.

It all depends on what you call hot. If you're thinking early July then you might not want to stay in Vegas for too long!!!! Vegas will be in the 100's and the canyon will be in the high 80's.

The top of the canyon is nice in July. The bottom of the Canyon is hot.
Flagstaff is at 7000' and the weather there is very nice durring the day and cool at night.
