We get a lot of gray ducks in SEMO and haven't really noticed any gray duck decoys in anyone, including my, spread. Gray ducks around here will work a spread just out of shotgun range for up to a half hour before coming in or shagging. Do any of you guys use them with noticeable success?

Gadwall will not put up with much hailing either. We swore for a while that they counted the number of gaddie dekes we had in our spread.

Was thinking about isolating a dozen from the main spread. Had them come in before, take a couple out, then they'd circle two times and come right back.

Not a ton of gadwall in my area but when they are here the only way I can getting them to commit consistently is by running 6-12 gadwall decoys off to one side, whatever side they seem to prefer that day.

This year, in the area I'm hunting most of the time, gadwalls are making up 30% of my total bag. (throw out the Early Teal Season, and they have made up about 60%). I've gotten so I put out 5 to 18 gadwall decoys and 2-3 each of other species. I've not noticed the gadwalls being particularly wary; they either ignore my spread or pitch right in. Killed 41 gadwalls this year so far...which is a record for me.
In my opinion, gadwall decoys work.

They make up about 60% of all the ducks I kill nearly every year. Lots of them here.

I thought they were the dumb duck of puddle ducks. They usually decoy great here.

We shoot them over about any decoy. Avian X has spot on Gadwall decoys.

I agree. The best gadwall decoys, by far, come from Avian-X.
