Hey all, newbie here. I'm the proud owner of 2 labs, 1 male 3 yrs old, Dakota. 1-female, 1 yr old Shiloh. The male is without a doubt the smartest dog I've ever owned. The female is out of him and she's gonna be a dandy . I grew up in S. dakota and had very little experience with Labs. Family always used pointing dogs, GSP's and Setters. There were some awful good dogs among these, some not so good. But these Labs have impressed the hell out of me. They are training me quickly, am learning alot. I head back out west every year for some bird hunting, and can't wait for it. Only 30 more days now, but whose counting. Also do some upland here in Ohio, but mostly waterfowl.

    Keep it safe.

There's a pretty large range of dogs that people use for upland birds...

This is an eye opening experience for me.. As far as I knew there was only one REAL upland dog.. THE POINTER...lol

I have 2 Pointers that run big and strong and have the whole pheasnat quail thing figured out...

I use my lab for waterfowl only

I have an awesome 4 year old english setter named Rip. My dad has had a few national champs and this one is better. He is just a huntin dog though. We don't do any competitions any more.

Well Pointers of course! Hey Doc didn't you spend some time at the Coffe Shop at Alloutdoors? What ever happened to that place, they go down in flames or what?
