I see no state land. You need to be very aware of MI. riparian rights laws.

I guess I'm confused with that law. There is obviously a state owned boat launch, in addition we are renting a cottage on the lake. When did it become illegal to hunt the lakes of Michigan? It is not a private lake by any definition. Can you help me out?

Each landowner controls their section of lake to the middle of the lake. A piece of pie if you will. You should ok in front of the state launch and in the pie area of the rental WITH WRITTEN PERMISSION. You will also need to adhere to all safety zones. 450' from any occupied dwelling weather there is anyone home or not.

Public access to a lake is a completely seperate issue to public hunting being allowed....like previously posted, you may do well to familiarize yourself with riparian laws....if there are houses around the lake, I'm sure they are aware of it.

Also, maybe IF someone saw your post that DOES hunt this lake- THEY may not want to give you and any other cyber scouters a head start on crowding up the area he hunts....i know if aomeone asked about hunting a lake that i hunt on an open forum, I wouldn't say Jack
