I just talked with a friend this evening. His dog has tested positive for heart worms, and he hasn't missed any monthly heartgard treatments. Vet says it is likely a drug resistant variety of heartworm that is growing more prevalent in southern states, including Arkansas ( where I hunt). if your dogs hunt in this area, might want to get them tested, and rethink your treatment options.
