Every year the FFA instructor at they school I teach at takes around 12 kids on a canoe trip. I believe the trip is usually in MO. He just told me that with the recent rains the place they usually go got washed out and lost everything. They are looking for a new place to go. If anyone has any ideas of a good place for them to go please post up or pm me. Thanks

Jon, Blue river in IN has trips but I'm afraid that many of the places are in the same situation. Probably got another 2 inches today in that area..

Try some of the outfitters around Crawfordsville, IN on Sugar Creek. Some offer one or two day floats with a campground in the middle of the trip. Very scenic. Heavily wooded with limestone bluffs. It's flooded right now but will settle pretty fast once the rain is out of the area.

All the heavy rains seem to be from Peoria on south. As the storms seem to be running from the SW to the NE, I'd look to Wisconsin or Minnesota. Go to a site called rivergages.com. They have river levels for various major rivers and some tributary streams.

The sugar creek is a great river to float. Start near Crawfordsville and end up in Turkey Run state park. Good camping areas as well. Scenery can be solid especially during bikini season.

Try www.clementscanoes.com for another good Sugar a creek outfitter. Sugar Creek runs through Shades and Turkey Run State Parks.
