My wife and I are thinking about moving to the Pagosa Springs area next year and was wondering how the duck and or goose hunting is within a couple hours of travel time from there. Thanks in advance, Mitch.

Thanks for the info, I will check it out, that is one thing that I am going to mis about where I am in Cali, I am 15 minutes from a nice State refuge, and I love to duck hunt.

2 hours gives you a pretty good sized area to choose from, including NM.

There is a SWA just 5 minutes South of Pagosa - maybe 30 acres. Not a waterfowl mecca but always seems to have geese and spent hulls on the shore.

The San Luis Valley is not what it once was. It is predominately gadwalls now days. When I ask the wildlife commission about that they say the area is no longer managed for waterfowl - but I'm unable to get any further information from them.

You may be giving up some ducks, but the turkeys, elk and deer will more than cover your sorrows.
