I have a 22hp Predator with a Longtail kit. Will someone please tell me how to turn it into a surface drive with the predator motor?

    Thanks!

I don't think you are going to be able to turn your long tail kit into a true surface drive. You will need a different transom clamp, and motor base assembly. You will need a water tight belt housing, belt gears for motor and prop shaft, prop shaft bearing assembly housing, belt and a properly sized prop. Also some sort of trim unit. I would check GoDevil or BPS-Mudbuddy web sites to see what they could offer in parts, or a kit. Boss Hog used to offer surface drive kit yrs. ago, couldn't say if they still do.

Start by getting rid of the longtail kit. Finish by buying a surface drive kit

You're either going to have to buy a surface drive frame to mount it to or do a significant amount of building to build a surface drive with quite a bit of welding and machining to complete the project
