Just going through my pictures from this hunting season, and thought I'd put some of the hilights of the season out there. These generally consist of hunts with my family, and some "firsts" for my daughter. Also a first season for the new pup who is doing a fantastic job. Its been great so far, hope it continues.
Started off with spring bears. Both my daughter and my wife connected on the same night. First bear for Mal.

    Debbies bear.

Then off to caribou. This is number 2 for Mal, another nice bull. All I can say is, I sure didn't start off like this.

    Moose.

Then off the the waterfowl season. This was Mal's first year as a gunner, and Elli's first season in life.

Still got a few more tricks up my sleeve before the year is out. Its been a fantastic season so far, one that will stick in memories till the day I die. Hopefully a long time from now.

You know, I took that picture, which was sort of a slow day, just because of that brant. This bird was shot in interior Alaska, way away from anywhere I'd expect to see a brant. Came in all by itself, and landed in the duck decoys before we could even get up. The girls teamed up and got him though. I have shot a lot of them out in places like Cold Bay, and at times, along areas in the Prince William Sound. Izembek is the place to go if you want to target them up here.
