Yeah, but it sure looks like you tear up the other hens. Brute!
You got me there Jim.... I keep shooting at drakes but as soon as I shoot..The hens fly in front of their "man" to save him...It's really touching how they sacrifice themselfes like that!
Did not hunt - had to recover from the AR massacre. Well not really. Got 10 ducks (mallards and gadwall) and 22 geese (5 Specs and 17 sky carp). Weather was not conducive to prime hunting conditions and the birds were wary even in the second week of the season.
Jax - you would have been in seventh heaven - there were more hollywood mallards than you could shake a stick at. Guide did not understand why I wouldn't shoot 'em.!?????
We only saw one bird and as Murphy's Law goes I was answering natures call. The other hunter got one shot off but it took him by suprise too and missed.
Not a bad morning. Didn't see much flying today. I'll get'um tomorrow. Two nice Drakes.
5 ringers, 2 drakes, 3 hens.
Probably shot two boxes of shells. Them ducks were getting pounded. All the action was pass shooting at about 100mph. The birds were flaring when they saw the decoys. Everything seemed to be set up fine, I think they were just decoy shy from all the action out there. We pulled the deks in and actually did a little better
