Just got 16" at home in Prior Lake. I wish you guys could get something like that out in the Dakotas. I know late winter/early spring can change things fast so we just hope.

Snow now is worthless to us. All a snowstorm does at this point is kill pheasants, deer and fish but adds next to nothing for the ponds. Best to get the snow in march.

Coyote hunting last weekend and I drove all the section lines and trails I do during deer season. NO SNOW and wetland after wetland dry. Big bodies are shrinking fast as well!!! Dean is correct, about the snow coming in Mar vs now. Snow piled up now tends to freeze out losing a lot of water content!

Is this predicted snowfall this week coming at a good time? Will it help much?

It's a good start. Central ND had next to no snow on the ground before this so we'll need plenty more moisture this spring to reverse the drought.

Looking pretty good with a fairly significant amount of runoff going on right now which is a bit surprising because it's been cold as hell. Definitely not going to set any records for runoff but we're going to have plenty enough to make large areas of sheet water which will definitely help with the Ducks getting a good start. This was as off yesterday.

Here's a shot from this afternoon. Water was flowing hard off the hills its just to bad the warm spell was only one day long. otherwise we would have got a better long term runoff instead of this stop start crap that leads to more of it having a chance to soak in.

Sounds like another 3-6 this weekend. What a looooooooooong winter. Normally snow geese are into Canada by now, I'm sure they are pushing back into Southern South Dakota.
