I have always wondered during all this gun controversy in the news these days, what percentage if any of the murderers etc. are or were HUNTERS? I may be naive, but I feel most of the hunting croud has been brought up as responsable, careing folks. I am from a small farming community and the hunters I see seem to be far from the murdering type. This is why it's hard for me swallow all the crap about gun control. The anti's are starting in the wrong place as most of us know. I, like most folks don't know the answers but I hope something can be done to preserve our rite and our childrens children rites. I guess I'm done rambling now.

    4 hunting,

I read a stat, I hope someone here knows where I can get it, that children that are invloved in hunting and fishing, as a per capita group commit less crime than those that don't.

I know if my grades weren't up to par Dad would restricty my hunting and fishing priviges. Also I think it has to do with the time that is spent together.

I don`t know any criminals that hunt. The solution to keeping gun away from climinals is simple.Make and enforce tough laws for any clime commited with a gun. When conviced send to Prosons where criminals don`t have rights and never want to come back such a place again ever.On the average kids that hunt get in far less trouble. As my wife says if they spend all their money on hunting gear and all their time hunting they don`t have time to get in trouble.

Criminals will always be able to get their hands on guns or anything else they want .
I use to work in a prison at one time and weapons ,narcotics ,name it were found on a daily basis .Banning guns isint the answer , if parents would parent and teach children the dos and donts we wouldnt have such a problem . What gets me is that things appear that no matter which way you turn there is an anti something .anti gun, anti hunting ,anti fishing , anti anti, it gets old .I know that when I grew up the fathers that spent the time with their chidren all grew up to be respectable people .The anti folks are an orginized bunch and we need to support nra and and do what we can to fend off the antis .

If you take your kids hunting you won't have to go hunting for your kids.
