Grew up in Morgan City, LA...hunted ducks since 52...still never have used a mojo. Young guy down the street finally talked me into hunting with him over his spinner. Never have I ever heard a more annoying sound. Worse than the interstate. Them things are loud! This ole codger will never use one. Tried to tell the young fella he didn't need it to kill birds... I believe this whole duck thing is just generational. It's all these young guys have ever known. Anyways, first post on the forum is about a mojo...yall go easy on me. Just ain't got many ole timers in my neck of the woods and I dont role with Facebook.....but seriously, how many have never hunted with a mojo? I'm probably the only one.

I hunted over one one time. Didn’t seem to help any and even flared some birds off

Some days yes some days no. All in what the ducks want. Almost always a jerk cord.

I had no idea they made that much noise? I used to use a duck flag years ago before the main delta got so crowded and it would work in open water occasionally. Those mojos make it to where I cant hear wings and hearing is just as important as seeing.

I use them but don’t really mind when we don’t put them out. I do know when they first came out (2000-2001) it was like shooting fish in a barrel. They were turning bad public hunting spots into very good spots. Ducks came right to them, no doubt about it.

It would be neat to try a five year ban / allow them to be used every 5 years or so.

I don’t have one and don’t want one. My hunting partner, who is 30 years older than me, has two and always wants to use them. I think it’s confirmation bias, or something similar. It’s like he spent the money on them, so he is going to use them, regardless of how much they flair ducks.

The new ones do not make any noise, not saying they help either.
Teal seem to love them as well as bluebils. Others... maybe sometimes.
