Is it good for science folks to get in over their head and unable to control their game? Whether something (no matter how exotic) is good is not an easy subject. Sorta like playing the God act. When is it too bold?

Without delving too far into the philosophical, realize that science is actually amoral.

Many brilliant thinkers (Richard Dawkins NOT being one of them) have said that both science and religion are necessary. One of the things that religion does is to put ethical/moral bounds science - and this is a good thing. Likewise, science brings religion to earth, separating theology from silliness.

More likely, science epitomizes the dilemma experienced when trying to make a distinction between amoral and immoral. :l
