    Hello fellow Sportsman,
Just wanted to let you know about something new coming to the West, Hunters Helping Soldiers. The mission at HHS is to provide a means to enhance physical and emotional healing through comrodery during hunting and fishing trips as well as mentorship to help ease the transition from military life to civilian life and help families of returning, wounded and mortally wounded soldiers cope with the challenge they face.
We are dedicated to taking wounded warriors on hunting and fishing trips to not only fulfill a trip of a lifetime, but to assist in the healing process through the great outdoors.

On this website you will find all of the information, pictures, trips, meeting minutes, and what's going on with HHS.

These are brand new chapters and we are looking for volunteers to get them up and running. I am in the process of organizing a chapter in Salt Lake City, Utah. We are looking for people to start up more chapters out here in the western states. If you are interested in helping us out, please feel free to contact me, Dan Ahlstrom Cell # 801-381-5476 or George Wooden 443-206-6121

    Or on facebook~

Also keep in mind, you don?t have to be a hunter to help out with this great cause. This is our way of giving back to the men and women who have sacrificed so much to help keep our freedom.
We THANK YOU for your service!!!

I look forward to hearing from you and please pass on this info to anyone that you think would like to help as well.

    Hi Dan

The entire Board of Directors of Hunters Helping Soldiers truly appreciates your dedication to the mission. We are excited about your chapter and can already see just how successful you will be and how you will change lives of our U.S. Veterans and children from all over.

As you know Dan, Hunters Helping Soldiers has several Programs, both National and at chapter level such as:

Veterans Conservation Program - HHS is 100% a Hunting Organization but also believes that Conservation is a valuable mission. As hunters, we know that our wildlife resources are a valuable commodity. We encourage our chapters to build Woodduck boxes and Mallard Hen Houses to be placed and maintained in the chapters area. Chapter Volunteers are encouraged to get our Veterans involved, getting them out of the house after the hunting season to maintain these boxes and nesting structures. This is a great program also for our Camo Kids Program. These structures are fully funded both nationally and at Chapter Level.

HHS "Camo Kids" Childrens Program - Needless to say, our children are our future. Without teaching them the virtues of hunting and providing them with proper mentorship, our hunting heritage may possibly cease to exist. HHS is proud to take children hunting and fishing and get them involved in all of our programs. HHS fully funds hunting and fishing trips for children both nationally and at chapter level. Chapters are encouraged to arrange and host fun and educational outtings, showing our children that hunting is acceptable and also serves a valuable purpose.

HHS for our Homeless Veterans - Chapters are encouraged to donate both food and clothing to shelters who serve homeless U.S. Veterans. Many of our U.S. Veterans return home suffering from unseen wounds of war such as PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury). These unseen wounds commonly go untreated, causing unemployee and family break ups...leaving our U.S. Veterans on the street huddling for shelter and food. HHS promotes our chapters to donate to Shelters and Pantries serving these forgotten warriors. You never know when a warm bowl of soup and new socks may change someones life.

These are just some of our Programs...we urge everyone to get involved and show your support for our U.S. Veterans who have stood guard for our freedoms for centuries.

To learn more or possibly open a chapter near you, please either email me here or go to our website at

Again, congrats Dan...we all truly appreciate you and your fine work for our U.S. Veterans.
