So after being a member here for a while I thinking I am going to try my hand at waterfowling. What else do I need, is $2000 a decent budget?

    I figure I can get:

    A pair of waders $950.

    A dozen geese $455

    A dozen ducks $270

    A pair of gloves $170

    A duck call $250

    Now you just need a $25k boat, a $1.5k gun, a $60k truck, a $12k/yr lease, a $12k sbs, and a few other misc things...

Budget and waterfowling should never be spoken of in the same sentence.

That Sitka stuff makes no sense whatsoever. I've used $15 calls to great effect.
The decoys do make sense for big water and heavy use.
Be careful what you spend your money on....

That gear list will assuredly lead to limits of proper ducks every time you step foot in the marsh.
    Good one

Duck hunting and budget should not be confused. My duck hunting related expenditures this year are substantial but I spend lots of time with friends and family and you can't take it with you. My trip to Canada alone is more than your budget
