Hi Bob - glad to see you are up and about. Hope you are feeling well!

    Duck - looking good!

The number of requests is real low this year - still some guys finding the design and liking it. We were tossing around the idea of updating the video and just don't have enough interest to finance it.

Hard to compete with kayaks being cheaper and multi-use as opposed to just duck hunting.

MA, I built one earlier this year but didn't post anything about it. As for hunting out of a kayak, I did that with my wife's kayak and still decided I would rather hunt out of a hybrid as it would provide a lot more stable shooting scenario along with able to take more decoys.

Has anyone tried to register one of these in the state of IL ? I've decided that its time to run a motor on mine after having it at a non-powered boat for 4 years. Unfortunately i do not have any of my receipts from that time period as proof of material purchase.

Glad that so many people are still building these little boats. They really are a great tool for hunting.

I have seen on this thread about weed wacker used for a motor on our little boats. just how difficult is it to convert from a grass cutter to an outboard? Missed, I was out of circulation last year due to a broken neck (fused C-3 to T-3 then). about 2 months ago (due to a flashback) I fell out of the bed and have a compression fracture of C-2. It sounds silly but it does happen. The surgeon said the fracture has stabelized & never to shoot a gun again. Anyway I am still kicking & be "a thorn in the flesh" to some of my closest friends. I'm sure you still have some new plans in your head that need to be brought forth. Thanks for your help so many times.

I have a weed wacker outboard. Don't waste your time. Slow. Not enough torque. It got really hot to the point it was hard starting. Clutch slipped.

I have a 79cc longtail now. Much happier.

Not sure I ever posted photos of it in this thread. I used a kit to convert it. Conversion was straight forward.

It just sits in my basement now.

Here is the clutch after it about burned up. After this I had 2 beads of weld run on the clutch drum to lock it out permanently. Stopped slipping but since there was no clutch stalled when you put the prop in the water. I could have kept messing with it but gave up and ordered a thai kit instead.

My pal ans I used the plans and extrapolated out to include dog boxes and a hunt deck. We hunt tidal areas, so need the extra oomph, so use a 6.5 HP swamp runner and those get with the program.
