Season needs to be shortened.
Like my wife says...."You dont HAVE to go".
Well, yes dear, I DO
If my knees hurt as bad this coming duck season like they did this past one, I may be able to go opening day and not again til the last day.
It ain't the years, it's the mileage.
The wading around in the mud hole up here has taken my sole.
56 years of it and now I'm paying for it.
I don't regret any of it and will still hunt until I can't
go any more.
I used to hunt almost every day.Now 3 days a week is fine as long as there is a day or two in between.
I agree Danny. I'm 68 now. I can still do (mostly) what I used to do. It just takes me 3 times as long and don't want to do it quite as often. Just got back from 4 straight days of hunting in S. Il. Had some good hunts but I'm DONE. My bones are aching and my muscles are sore - but- I'll get em again next year good lord willing.
Time to stick a fork in it. Spent the last two days in layout blinds. Glad Saturday ended early, however Sunday we finished the season a couple short. Like I told my boy, it doesn't hurt to leave a few for seed. Considering this was south, I have to bow to the boyz up north who hunt this way. Between the weather & twisting around, my back & neck are killing me. Time to start spending 12 hour days in the office & rest for next year.
