Arrived in Islamorada yesterday and the wind is blowing pretty good:eek:
Looking for a 1/2 day guide to fish and will be able to go any of the next 3 days and was wanting to know if anyone knows of a local named Capt. Blake or have any recommendations?
Just saw a couple guys throwing cast nets off their boat from the view of my room just now so I'm itching to go:z

Captain Barry Hoffman is great...and fishes the whole middle keys depending on species.

Captain John Donnel is based out of Tavenier but again, moves around. You may not get him since he is also a duck guide and may already be out of the keys...but he is a super guide if you can get him.

Got back last night and ended up using Captain Blake out of Key Largo. Young guide but very competent with his 24' Yellowfin bay boat and gear:tu
Our deal was to catch fish to eat for dinner and we went out Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately, my cousin's girlfriend tagged along and she tried to make the trip about herself and cut into the limited fishing time:mad:
All I could catch were undersized, my cousin "farmed" a big one and if it wasn't for my wife catching a couple we would have had empty taco shells instead of some killer fish tacos:bow
Overall satisfied with the guided trip:)
I did happen to catch a red solo off the dock at the rental house :joker
