It appears the Senate just passed a two year budget for the USA.

The $1.5 trillion from the tax bill and the doubling of the deficit this year come to mind.

BTW, Oregon went through a similar decision over a decade ago and came up with the opposite result and it is costing us Billions. However, a contract is a contract, so that was the correct decision. Whether it will remain that way in the future is unclear.

1.5 trillion in tax cuts over the next 10 years.

1.5 trillion in increased spending over the next 10 years.

    Circular Firing Squad!

Because you and I both know that it will be more than $1.5 trillion in increased spending over the next 10 years.

It increases domestic spending by $131 billion and defense spending by $165 billion over the next two years and suspend the debt limit for one year — until well after the midterm elections.

Yes, this is the crux of any deal. If you want to cut spending you have to do it across the board. If you want huge increases in military spending and you need democratic votes then you are going to have to accept increases in domestic spending. Kind of like if you go buy a new shotgun, the wife gets some new shoes. The defense budget is so large they could easily fund their needs if they followed their own internal study on how to cut 125 B of bureaucratic waste. Same with domestic spending. Set you priorities and fund them. But it is easy in congress and on the PAF to take potshots when your party is not in the White House. Much like the dog who chases cars and finally gets the chance to grab onto the tire.

With the Freedom Caucus running about with their scorched earth policies, the only way to get the increased military funding was to play politics and give the dems their increases on the domestic side.

I'm wondering why Nancy Pelosi, trying to block this bill, could stand for eight hours lecturing about the poor baby illegal aliens but couldn't stand for ten seconds for their American victims during the State of the Union address.
