Check theweatherchannel.com. It is not that cold in IA, IL or MO. I keep there are still tons of ducks up there.

I may be wrong but it don't look good for the rest of January weather wise. I hope I am.

60 F in Ar next week? Yep. That would not be that bad except it is almost the same in KS,IL,MO,IA.etc.

I guess I can go boat riding in Feb and March with a camera and have some good shoots in S AR.

Well unlike your pressure excuse & rant you were on last week;) , I can not argue with you on this point.:( But there is not much need in griping and whining about this one. There is nothing we can do to change this fact, when there is open water & food North of us THEY AIN'T COMIN'. All you can do is drop to your knees and ask the GOOD LORD to give us a little helping hand, at this point IT CAN'T HURT.

Yep with all the open water-food and 2 zones now to be closed in the state of Mo. except the south unit the ducks will stay unless there is a major major snow and freeze. From what i can see from posted numbers it seems to be about 500,000 birds to 1,000,000 birds still here from what they are saying. And i think all the ducks and geese had some mighty find bunkers this year as i had better hunting last year and seen alot more birds:eek:

It's worse then you think. Our season closed 2 weeks ago and we just got a big push of Mallards. We have been in the 40s for about 5 days and our marshes are thawing out. We have not had any snow cover yet.

I'm coming down in 2 weeks and if nothing major happens weather wise, it looks like I'll be shooting Shovelers and Teal.

"Frigid air has remained trapped across central Canada much of this month but will begin to spread southward into the United States this weekend. This airmass will easily be the coldest of the season. The very cold air will then spread into the South and East later next week. " accuweather.com

Anyone going to hang thier hats on this one???
