I think a lot of the debate about the IWA goals and mission statement would be solved by deciding simply if at this point we want to set it up for the immediate vision, or what it should be capable of being 5 years from now.
Probably no one here is expecting that in 6 months we could be doing anything more than working to provide the FG Commission with sound scientific data. If we can reach an agreement and work together, that goal should be attainable in a relatively short time. Then what?
If the majority feel it is better to write an immediate goal, attain it, then rewrite the mission to include a new goal, I don't see any problem with that.
re: Thursday's meeting, I agree with jaeger19's outline.
edit - forgot this earlier... I like everything in Tom's most recent post. That is a good description of what I hope IWA could be in 2 to 5 years from now.
